I often say that you don't ever want to wake up and see me standing over you, because then you know you're in trouble! As an intensive care nurse, my specialty for the past eight years has been cardiac intensive care. It is incredibly rewarding to help other people in their time of need, although at times it's frustrating to see so many people hospitalized as a result of risk factors within their control. I am reminded on a daily basis that there is an endless supply of people that need the kind of help that Waiora's products can provide.
While nursing offers almost limitless opportunities for advancement, early on in my career I realized that none of those options fit me personally. Plus, I didn't want to be putting myself through the physical and emotional stresses when I hit my 50's and 60's. I realized that if I wanted something more than my current path then nursing was not going to get me there. So I started looking for something else that I could do without impacting my nursing career.
I was attracted to network marketing for its ability to generate a residual income. When I first got started in the industry about 14 years ago, I had zero people skills. The thought of picking up the phone and talking to people was enough to make me want to quit on the spot! I also didn't know a lot of people so I didn't have a warm market to speak of. But my desire to change my circumstances was greater than that fear.
I started calling people from a Chamber of Commerce phone book. I wasn't successful…I only found one person out of 6,500 calls made. Most people would have quit soon after the 10th or 20th 'no' but I persisted. My 'why', the reason why I wanted to change was an internal engine propelling me to do whatever it took to get it done. In the process of making those phone calls, my skill level, attitude and belief grew. That one person I found turned out to build a huge business with me. I'm hesitant to suggest that anyone else do what I did - but it made me realize that you can accomplish anything if your 'why' is big enough.
I got started with Waiora right at the beginning, in April 2004. I use the analogy that a steamroller doesn't move very fast, but you can sure tell where it's been. That's how it's been with my business. Most of my success and personal development is due to Eddie Stone and Mickey Dillon. They have been friends and mentors for many years. Growth in my business has accelerated with the introduction of Natural Cellular Defense; there is a newfound excitement with what it can do for people. Everyone can see that this is something special, unlike anything else out there. The feedback from those reviewing the information has been impressive - people say they have never read anything like this before, anywhere!
The fun part is the people you get to work with - it's exciting to see them do well. My purpose is to help other people succeed - it's through their success that I achieve my goals. I want to get to a point where I can cut back on my nursing hours at the hospital.
Long term, my first target for my Waiora business is $30,000 in monthly income, a number that would meet my needs and allow me to dream bigger. I'll be spending my time traveling and having fun with my wife Ginger and our four kids and best of all, with Waiora the only schedule I'll be following will be the one I set.
