Larry Rosenbeck
While a veteran of the direct selling industry, my background is in health care. I spent the first 15 years working for a Community Blood Center (similar to the Red Cross), helping them to develop retention and outreach programs. Eventually I was recruited to work for one of our suppliers of diagnostic reagents and instruments—where I spent another 16 years and was eventually introduced to a nutritional direct selling company. Even with a strong attachment to and belief in the products, I eventually found myself disengaged from the business opportunity, no longer satisfied with my earning potential and unwilling to ask others to share a similar fate.
After a period of time, I was approached by a familiar face—John Kercher—and introduced to Waiora. I was interested immediately, having the benefit of knowing the integrity of many key members of corporate management as well as Rik Deitsch and other Distributor leaders. There was no way I was going to pass up something this dynamic—especially when you add the potential and quality of a product like Natural Cellular Defense into the mix as well as a very lucrative compensation plan. Waiora was definitely an opportunity worthy of my attention.
I sat down and started to really digest the compensation plan, and realized the true beauty of the Waiora Opportunity—anyone could do this business and be very successful. Simply identify three business partners that you like, respect and want to work with and mentor them. You'll work with them to identify their three people and they'll return the favor with their frontline. I could truly appreciate the brilliance of the opportunity when I started sharing Waiora with others. Even when someone joined the business to be a product user, many quickly became actively engaged in the business because they couldn't not share a product like Natural Cellular Defense with others. The products speak volumes and you don't have to.
Through the years, I've been afforded some great advice. One of the best pearls of wisdom was that this business works much better if you do it fast rather than if you do it slow. People see (and respond to) your passion, your posture, your persistence and your depth of conviction, and it speaks volumes. I'm also struck by something Norman Vincent Peale once said—"No fact before us is as important as our attitude toward it." It's so true. I'm a "fact" kind of guy. I use this information to decipher and make decisions. But the majority of people base decisions on emotion and attitude. You simply cannot underestimate the value of passion, conviction and a positive attitude.
My success is not my own. It's the culmination of the efforts of my whole team including terrific upline leaders. This group of quality people has helped me get to where I am today. Like any good team—they've thrown some great blocks, earned a few extra yards carrying the ball themselves, and cheered me on as I neared the goal posts. Of course, I've returned the favor by signaling in a few plays, carrying out the water buckets and doing a little coaching of my own. This is simply what a good team does, and mine is priceless.
My Waiora Distributorship has afforded me many things—but the most powerful are the priceless things I cannot buy. It's a humbling moment when you find yourself in a room with someone who has thrown their arms around you, weeping as they thank you for giving them their life back. This moment—this connection to someone—cannot be quantified, it is simply priceless. In my opinion, there is no work more rewarding than what I get to do every day.
The best advice I can offer someone new to Waiora is to go with your instincts. Don't over think this thing. It's a "win-win" situation, and it improves literally every life you touch. And don't be afraid to think outside the box. There is nothing here to fear. Society and especially the media make everyone so cautious of everything. Many just stay on the sidelines. Life is just too short to never get in the game. And if you allow yourself, it's the most fun you'll ever experience in a "work" atmosphere.
I'm proud of what we've accomplished already, but what I really look forward to is becoming a Triple Diamond. I know that by achieving this rank, I will have helped many people to achieve a level of success where they will never have to "work" again. You know, I used to dream of retirement—looking forward to the day when my lovely wife Sharon and I would travel and "take from life." I understand now that this thought process was immature and naive. The bottom line is that so many of us have so much to offer long after our retirement years. Not only should we continue "giving back to life," I think we have a responsibility to do so.
It's important that you know that what you do doesn't simply earn you a paycheck. In fact, if we are to believe what Dr. Trobiani talks about in his Wellness Revolution CD—which I believe strongly, we have the mechanism to change health care. We are what "health care reform" is all about. It starts with each of us. If we don't become proactive with our personal health, I believe our health care system will have a massive coronary. And our children will be left to pay the consequences. It's not too late. "Health care reform" begins with me, it begins with you, and it certainly begins with Waiora.
