Mark DiamondI was in the financial services industry for many years, providing retirement planning advice and investment portfolios. While the financial services industry provided a lucrative income, it was lacking in some of the areas important to me, namely time freedom. I found myself working on the company's schedule, not my own. And, no matter how well I did or how many sales goals I achieved, each year the bar would keep rising or my territory would change, keeping things just out of reach.

The financial services industry also let me see that even though many families had a relatively high gross income, many of those people were flat broke. Between a mortgage, cars, insurance and other expenses, they didn't have any disposable income. It wasn't a financial services package they needed, it was more income. It's the exact opposite of financial services because you are sharing something valuable instead of trying to sell something.

It's true what they say, if you want something done, you don't give it to the person who has time to do it, you give it to the person who is too busy to do it. They are the ones who will get it done.

I'm upfront with people in terms of the expectations of achieving success and that they need to start sharing it with four or five people right away. I help them develop their contact list, they make the initial contact and then I'm available for follow up and three-way phone calls. I also provide training to help people get started, giving them a tour through their online back office and providing an overview of the tools and resources available.
