Robert Wambach PhD

Robert Wambach PhDA big influence on my life occurred when I was a counselor at Camp Meehan, a backcountry "YMCA" site at the foot of Mt. St. Helens in Washington State. There was lava and ash everywhere. I probably first ate something like a zeolite back then all mixed in with my peanut butter sandwiches.

I accepted the "Y" creed as a young kid and it has been important ever since. It simply suggested that we pursue a healthy and integrated Spirit, Mind & Body throughout life. Later, when I practiced psychotherapy for 25 years, I noticed that most keep these three parts separate with negative consequences. I focus on integrating all three in my own life and encourage the same in others. Over time, I kept moving toward a natural approach to health. In 1978, I began to study and teach Tai Chi. My mentor taught that it is less about how long we live and more about being healthy and enjoying life until it's "time to go". This idea was appealing and contributed even more to my naturopathic orientation.

I have known that toxins are a growing problem for quite awhile but saw no viable solution. My interest increased when I began to notice some "brain fog" which, thankfully, reversed after a few weeks on Waiora's Natural Cellular Defense. My mother cooked in aluminum pans, our dentist let me play with mercury and a bus ran near my childhood home back when there was still lead in the fuel. My dad died of a heart attack at 52, my mom had Alzheimer's and I faced a major health challenge in 1983. While medicine can do wonders after a condition occurs, I am motivated to maintain optimal health and healing and to teach it to others. Waiora offers help to do this.

For about six years, I tried other network marketing companies, usually to get a unique product while hoping it would lead to retirement income. I read books and listened to tapes on how to sell but saw only minimal return. I was trying to be a salesperson - to push others to action before they were ready. It was a far cry from my work as a therapist to help others choose for themselves. I was trying to be someone I was not, believing the books had the answers for an endeavor which was new to me.

When I heard about Natural Cellular Defense, a substance formed by volcanoes to help remove toxins and other substances from the body, it was a perfect fit. Being safe and natural, it fit my criteria and I believed all we had to do was to learn how to best educate others about it. However, I still had to decide how to do this as a business since I was discouraged by those previous attempts at network marketing. After thinking about it for two weeks, I decided to jump in as long as I would not try to be someone I was not. I would define my intentions and the principles I wanted to guide whatever I might create.

First, I needed income, but I wanted to be of service to others in how I created it. Second, I was adamant about telling unembellished truth since I learned all else backfires. This would apply to how products and opportunity are presented and expectations about the business. Third, I wanted to empower others. Besides altruistic satisfaction, I believed it would be critical for growth. When a leader becomes overly relied upon, I observe growth halting a few levels down. Teaching and empowering leaders, who then repeat the same to others, keeps it replicating and, frankly, is a lot less work. By avoiding micromanagement, my business grew 14 levels in four months and saw leaders developing who I expect to surpass me, the greatest satisfaction and the best way to succeed in this business.

Could this approach work in today's business climate? Unwilling to do anything else, I went for it (and sought very little help from upline so I could stay with my own direction but ready to "bail" if it flopped). Instead, the result was a rapid growth toward Diamond and an expanding group of new friends with surprisingly similar purpose whom I can't wait to meet in person. I feel humbled and honored.

Network marketing allows for many styles and we each make a choice how we wish to create it. I appreciate Eddie Stone for encouraging distributors to follow their own style without dictating any particular one. The principles of service, truth and empowerment were how I chose to build my business, contributing to my success with Waiora. In my first month as Diamond, I earned more than any previous month in my life. I know the unique and generous compensation plan and having a popular product were a part of it, but I also believe being true to my own principles helps to explain the success. While that income is most welcome, what is equally important to me is how I was able to do it. I encourage any who read this to avoid trying to be anyone but yourself and I suspect you will attract others like you from this position of personal power.
