Ever since Mark and I got married 21 years ago, we've been partners not only in life but in business too! We always wanted to have our own business and the time freedom that it would bring. Plus, we wanted to have the opportunity to work hard once, (even if that meant for 10 years), but then to have that time pay off so that we could retire when we wanted. We were looking for the perfect business.
We started out with a fast food restaurant and for seven years gave it everything we had – and it just about killed us. The stress and hassles of dealing with employees, wages, and insurance was constant. Even though the restaurant wasn't open all day or night, we felt chained to it 24/7. While we were both in our mid 30s, we felt that we aged far beyond our years. I found that I had no energy and our health started to deteriorate.
With our health concerns, someone introduced us to nutritional supplements and network marketing along with it. It was the first time that we discovered a leveraged income. We poured our hearts into that company for nine years and enjoyed success, to the point where (briefly) we were able to work it full-time. But our time and efforts weren’t as richly rewarded as they could be due to the compensation plan. And over time, the company changed, too. Mark had to go back to work, starting his own window business. His new business was very successful and I joined him so that we could maximize our earnings and frankly, we felt let down by the company and were a little burned out by the whole experience.
Still, it was hard to get the concept of leveraged, residual income out of my mind. I thought if I could just find the right company then I knew it would work. After seeing the potential for the industry, I believed in it. While my husband's business was doing great it was still linear income – if he didn't work, he didn't get paid. And if something ever happened to him, I would never be able to do what he does. So even though we were making a good income, it still felt at risk.

I work my Waiora business on a completely part-time basis as I work with my husband full-time (during his busy season). In my first month, I shared Waiora with nine people and by the end of the month, I had 18 people on my team. My first month's check was $1,624! I was blown away! With a little encouragement and support from you - putting their needs above yours - then you will also achieve what you want. It felt so good to get that call and hear how just believing in her had made a difference in her success. Marcy had believed in me from the beginning so I knew what that meant to my new Distributor. It all comes down to being positive, because with the right frame of mind, you can make anything happen!
